Izabella Scorupco
made her Hollywood debut in Martin Campbell's GoldenEye, playing
Natalya Simonova, a beautiful and resourceful Russian computer
specialist.
Polish-born Scorupco
has been living in Sweden since 1978. At the age of 17, she
starred in a Swedish film, No One Can Love Like Us. She worked
as a photographic model and appeared in television commercials
in Sweden and Italy while also working in films and television
series. With the help of some musician friends, she started
singing for fun. She recorded a pop single, "Substitute,"
in 1989, which became a gold record in Sweden. Her album IZA,
released shortly after, and a 1991 single, "Shame, Shame,"
also went gold.
In 1994, she played
the lead role in a Swedish medieval drama, St. Peter's Tears,
directed by Erich Hortnagl. She played the part of Carla Marcellini,
who lives her life as a man in order to survive.
She starred in the
Polish hit With Fire and Sword and The Diver, which completed
shooting in Sweden just four days before she started on Vertical
Limit.
Scorupco lives in
Sweden and has a two-year-old daughter, Julia.
